PivotTable: Field Values

PivotTables need data. When you add Values, you can do calculations. The following pages will focus on the options at the bottom of the Field List.

 

Before You Begin: When you review the data in the sample spreadsheet, there are a couple of fields that make sense to use to COUNT or SUM the Values.

 

There are many Products in each Category. This is a many-to-many relationship.

 

There is one Amount for each sale. This a one-to-one relationship.

 

1. Try This: Add a Value

Go to the Field List

Drag and Drop Amount to the Values.

 

(Yes, it may say Count of Amount.
