Show the XML Source

Let's use the Developer Toolbar to show the XML maps in our workbook.

 

5. Try it: Display the XML Source

Go to Developer ->XML.

Click on Source.

 

What Do You See? The XML Source will be displayed on the right of your XML table. This XML Source is similar to the Field List in a PivotTable or PivotChart.

 

When we imported the XML file, Microsoft Excel creates a map of the table structure and, by default, named it dataroot_Map.

 

The XML map includes all of the fields in the table. You can drag and drop the fields to the spreadsheet as you would to create a PivotTable.
