Calculate Revenue

Labels and Data. Now all we need are the formulas. Think about the math: revenue equals net times quantity.

9. Try This: Create a Formula

Select Cell E2 and type in the equal sign.

All good equations begin with “=.”

Select Cell C2—the Net is $1.50.

Type the times symbol (the asterisk key). Select Cell D2—the Quantity is 100.

The completed equation is =C2*D2

Hit the Enter key on your keyboard. Excel won’t calculate until you leave the Cell.

What Do You See? There it is. $1.50 times 100 equals $150.00. OK, go to Cell E2 and double click on the AutoFill handle to fill in the equations.
