AutoCorrect Options

At the top of the AutoCorrect page is a list of Capitalization options. Microsoft Word capitalizes:

First letter of sentences

First letter in a table cell

Names of days

 

Try It: Replace text as you type:

Earlier in this lesson we played with a few symbols and emoticons. This is the page that lets you add and change the AutoCorrect words. For example, if you type ;) it will be replaced with a smiley face.


You can add a phrase to AutoCorrect and have Microsoft Office spell it out for you automatically. The buttons are pretty obvious: you can ADD or REMOVE any text in this list.

 

Memo to self: AutoCorrect is a productivity tool.

AutoCorrect quickly replaces "hte" with "the." However, as with all programming, it is a good idea to review the corrections and make sure that it makes sense.
